Teaching a First Real Live Zumba Class …With Real Paying Customers and Everything!!

_IGP5285_240_inset_logo_on_rightWell today was my first ever class teaching real live paying students. Helen Tite of Core Fitness Falmouth asked me if I would like to practise by co teaching her class with Eve a fellow zumba instructor.

At first i thought ‘no no no I am not ready’. However Helen convinced me that her class are very friendly, easy going and that sometimes it is easy to practise with strangers….

Well at the time i was convinced, but when nearly entering Falmouth I was less so!!! On the drive down i listened to the music, cueing verbally and with a few hand gestures here and there. Ok I was ready, bring it on

Stood with two other instructors in front of the class not knowing their choreography. Following the warm up. Thank goodness Zumba is easy to follow and i have watched every zumba class choreography I could get my hands on. The warm up was C’mon and Dance.  This is the same track I use but with completely different moves …oh well i was following well…but putting in maximum effort so getting very out of breath and considering how i am going to talk enough to lead the class.I decided to tone it down.

Time for me to take over. I was introduced as a Zumba Instructor from Plymouth . Way too much pressure so I reintroduced myself as a ‘wet-behind-the-ears’ instructor here for a little practise.. Then, Blanco, my first track.  It went really well. Next Bamboo, all good. Finally, Fuego…..messed up one cue but it was ok, I think, and on the evening went….

It was great….. fantastic……I loved it…….
