Wow…….. What an absolutely amazing experience! ZumbaZone were asked by Heart FM to give a Zumba demonstration at the British Fireworks Championships, being held on Plymouth Hoe on the 9th and 10^th (August). When we turned up people were scattered across the grass, standing and sitting, but as soon as we started we began to draw a rapidly growing crowd which, by the end of our all too brief time on stage, was a mass of jumping and singing bodies, it was truly amazing!

We had 30-40 of our Zumba gals and guys turn up to support the event on the first night and we all went on the stage together. After the first song a couple of Zumba ladies jumped down to dance on the grass in front of the stage and before we knew it, by the end of track two we had massive audience participation….At least 50 people in the crowd came to the front and began dancing and then it just grew…. and grew…… and grew…… As the sun set it felt like the whole of Plymouth Hoe were dancing Zumba and screaming ‘choco- latey’ at the top of their lungs.

On the second night we had even more ladies and gents from our Plymouth Zumba classes turn up and we had to split into two, with around 25 on stage and then 25 on the grass. In order to make sure everyone had a chance of dancing on the stage, we swapped all of our Zumba dancers over when we were half way through our 30minute set J  (not too sure about that bit???)

It was AMAZING to see everyone dancing; from toddlers and teenagers to mums and grandads…Quite frankly I was overwhelmed (and absolutely chuffed to bits) to see so many people dancing. Being a true Plymouth girl, when I first started Zumba it was a dream of mine to stand before a sea of faces on the Hoe, all of them following me and dancing to Zumba. The last two nights have seen that goal and my dream achieved.

I love dancing Zumba but it would be nothing without all the ladies, gents and smallies that come to my class on a regular basis, I would just like this chance to say a HUGE THANK YOU for your support.
